Tips for the basic basic accoustic treatment ?
Ok, i record in my bedroom in a house i share with buddies, and its basicaly a 10 by 12 square with a pretty tight fitting door and a small window. So how can I very cheaply (im broke as fuck) just make the rooms acousitcs sound better. I have some ideas from recording courses i've taken, but those were expensive and i want some suggestions from people that have actually done it.

neither of those 2 questions matter... lol... who gives a shit what hes recording or what mic... if he can spend 20 bucks... he's fucked on a super level lol...
Stryk... here's the best you can do man... honestly http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RoomDST36C/
or you can go the super cheap way and use comforters... OR... put the mic in the closet... and bang.

Are you trying to treat your recording area or your mixing area?

Buy some cotton filled moving blankets with grommets, so you can hang them.
6.5. x 6, for 16 bucks each with grommets.

great for mic booths... i got regular blankets in mine, and it sounds great, i'm planning to change them out for moving blankets soon.
crazy?

witness moving blankets in the booth, in a B studio at Sony.
that mic he's recording on is $7500... lol
you can buy them by the dozen as well... so, 36 sqft of coverage per blanket times 12... you do the math... $135 for a dozen cotton ones.

Re: Tips for the basic basic accoustic treatment ?
also, i know how your supposed to reduce reflection angles but how would place say those foam thingys in a basickly square room and or those blanckets,
Re: Tips for the basic basic accoustic treatment ?
cut off the corners... make the corners of the room look like "triangles" using the blankets... see what I mean?
Re: Tips for the basic basic accoustic treatment ?
wait, dont the corners of rooms already look like triangles?
Re: Tips for the basic basic accoustic treatment ?
Re: Tips for the basic basic accoustic treatment ?
hahahahahahahha
well, pyramid base triangles.
Re: Tips for the basic basic accoustic treatment ?
no they look like the top of triangles... when you look up from the floor at the ceiling... the blanket should complete the triangle... get it? see what I'm saying..? if you have a square room... and do what I'm saying... the room would not be square... it would be an octagon... feel me?
