Statistically speaking, im just another nigga trynna make a livin
viewed as a threat by people who's trade was slaves and shippin
guess im looking for a handout, supposed to take whats given
but never bite the hand that feeds,so now its racially driven
but i hate to listen.
in my mind its a hell here, my ocean of tears swell here
so i surf on dreams, & murder scenes & draw my shell near
reality's to much, full of crackheads & jailed peers
Society bids you farewell, yet forces you to live on wellfare
so how can i fare well when im living on minimum wage
cant hustle for the bills, chuz thats gets criminals caged
the media paints nightmares with all their visual aids
but expect me to see the future when i cant envision my day
and niggaz are crazed.
see my minds eye paints pictures that are steadily chippin away
so i smoke to get a clearer view..yet its causing my vision to fade
im full of contradictions, shit i cant make up my mind
so i hit my knees,scream listen please, pray up to the sky
but it breaks up in my eyes.
i was taught to trust in God, read the bible to the end
till i started thinkin King James couldnt rival with my pen
so now i write my own Psalms. in revivals with my friends
thinkin if he knew me now would he die for me again?
But why should i pretend.
I struggle with the world and learn to many lessons on hurt
and feel like i've wasted my breath in all those sessions at church
while im overlooked, and he's supposed to lessen the hurt
told that life is priceless but i still question my worth.
i reckoned its earth.
now i make my own reality, refusing to see the truth
channel all the images and end up using them in the booth
im well grounded. but yet somethings moving me to the roof
where i can command pain. abusin it on the troops
usually thats the truth..
but statistically speaking, im given to crime devoid of all thought
knowing im already judged, but they haul me to court
i gotta make it out the ghetto, so i write with this pen
and dread to end my peices, chuz it makes me lifeless again.
