"Damn, These Glasses!" [Antagonist Project]
"Damn, These Glasses!"
Written by; Nath9, Dante And Truth
I cautiously moved my
arthritis snare
to the crooked table.
Careful not to tip it,
I grabbed the rusted
glasses. With a subtle inhale
and a furious exhale
I removed the dust -
just another stray particle
given to mother earth.
I opened the book,
the pages were stuck together
due to my deceased alcoholic
of a mother, where she spilt
her precious liquor canister
onto the pages. Slowly, Carefully,
I pushed the edges of the glasses
through the little gray hair
I had remaining. The rocking-chair
softly creaked as I stood-up,
closing the book. I took
a look outside and saw chaos erupt.
burning green,
a scenery; now ash.
a blue sky falls,
eyes covered by mask.
animals decompose,
clothes turn ragged.
standing a fiery cold,
hair on neck grows jagged.
maggots cough up life,
as times become harsh.
Soldiers march to die,
while earth dawns dark.
thoughts spark of end,
I'll never see beautiful.
I'll never see it again,
goodbye creed funeral!
the colors fade away,
from a day that screams.
unable to show faith,
without having a dream.
Withered, empty
hearts. Mindless twits
Devouring the Rich.
on golden razor teeth
Hang our lost morals.
As the flower in bloom,
Decay. and the sickness
of False Revolution spreads
The Homeless see the blood
soaked streets as a rest for
Weary heads. Stressed eyes
feeding prejudged knowledge,
into a Soft and Spongy mind.
Absorbing the Propaganda Poison
And as Shaky hands flick back,
Designer hair chills fill his spine.
He’s bought into all the Narcissistic
Simplistic, Values of a battered society
Hazel eyes, staring through the glass
of eternity. Seeing the reality of mortality
and fate. Flipping a sorrowful existence
on its axis. His world in a mournful backpedal
Sleeping in the belly of the beast.
Sipping the nectar of newfound truth.
Sitting these glasses down,
truth isn't a prescription error.
Both eyes were knocked out;
these gallows are actually there.

Im new to the whole poetry thing, so I'm not going to go into great depth and critique this... All I have to say is that I really, really liked it. The way it was structured blew me away and the way that you guys collaborated to make it was unbelievable. You were all on the same wavelength and were able to make a beautiful piece. The closing bars were a great way to end it. Good job all.

Wait a minute, you mean it was done by 4 guys?...THat's awesome man, but I could tell the difference, nevertheless I think it was pretty good, I liked truth's verse more because of the words which rhymed...
I think Nath9 needs to tighten up some secrecy in his poets...Some lines were a bit too obvious...I dunno, I just think it sounds cool when ur poets are mysterious. http://www.rapbattles.com/forum/show...html?p=6355422
Re: "Damn, These Glasses!" [Antagonist Project]
im not one for you guys to totally listen to this is just my opinon as a novice, but the second vs was my favourite then went to the 3d then last verse and finally the beigginging, i disliked the begginig because it was dull to me, i didnt feel a lot of emiton in the beggining, but near the end of the first verse it started having some flow and emotion, and thats what mnade the second one so good, it had a nice start off, but besides that it was really good. and i agree with ozenrol you shoudl have said it was made by 3 poets, but not have named which was which, mystery always attracts attention.
