I'm so stupid (but i love him)

Conversation between me and my boyfriend, i'm the one leaving, the poem is about this conversation and how i feel, every time he lets me down......read the conversation first...it might help you understand the poem a little better. ~ thanx

"I'm leaving, I cant take it anymore, I'm gonna live at my moms for a while until i get a flat."

"No...Baby dont leave, i'm sorry, i never meant to hurt you...please stay, i love you."

"You say that everytime we fall out, and I always fall for it, but not this time."

"Baby i mean it...i need you and i love you so much, i'll never let you down again."

I'm So Stupid (But I Love Him)

Purple is my cheek from when he hit me,
Scarlet is the blood that trickles down.
My legs are battered from all the times he's kicked me,
And my shoulder's stiff from when he threw me on the ground.
Strong is the hand that laid its palm to mine,
As we sat looking out on the ocean deep,
And loving are those lips that made it all seem fine,
When they kissed my bruises better, and my cheek.
Broken is my heart from when he turned my face away,
Streaming are my eyes from all the pain.
Mended is what my heart became when he swore he needed me,
But then he went and slapped my face again.
Seething are my gums from when he punched me in the mouth,
The doctor said my scars will never fade,
But kind is the man that took me out for dinner,
And spent a fortune on the meal we ate.
Dangerous were the teeth that ripped the skin from both my arms,
Evil is that creature in all its might.
But weak is the man that stands before me,
As i consider whether to walk away tonight.
For all the good times, all the bad times, i'm happy were together,
And if it meant that we could stay that way, i'd let him treat me this way forever.
I hate him as much as i've ever hated anyone, yet i love him so much I'd die today.
And the tears are now vanished from my reddened cheeks,
As i ponder where to go, and with whom to stay.

Damn, great poem. I know what you are going through because your b/f was just like mine. I loved him so, but what he did to me made me hate him also. The mind never seems to know what to do. I hope you figured out what to do. In a way I never did, but at least I broke away from him. It hurt me a lot, but I figured out that in the end, he wasnt worth it. The pain wasnt worth it, even though I loved him to death.

Powerful and vivid. The emotions really churned around within the piece. Coming out in a steady way, as the piece went on.

Especially liked the way you kept on trying to make it all better. Trying to justify in parts.
