Mic Input and LineIn Input Question
Would I still get the same quality if I plugged my microphone to the LineIn input rather then the mic input? Cant get any sound from the Mic Input but I am getting sound from the LineIn Input. I have an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 Soundcard. Also would I still be able to adjust the latency if I plug it that way? Im on the verge of sending my preamp and soundcard back and getting an USB Preamp. Figured id give it one more try to fix this problem. Thanks
Re: Mic Input and LineIn Input Question
yes to all your questions...
all the preamp on that particular soundcard enables you to do is control the gain stage before it hits the disc. If you cant get a signal from your mic pre on your soundcard, you might need to either return your soundcard, or investigate more on why its giving you that problem.
what you realy need to do if you want better quality is save your money and get something worth your while.
don't just make sideways moves, try and move up with your setup.
Re: Mic Input and LineIn Input Question
thanks for your input. I am by the way saving up money to get the mini Mbox for 300 dollars.
Re: Mic Input and LineIn Input Question
not a bad choice for a beginning setup
Re: Mic Input and LineIn Input Question
ok i ran into one more problem. this should be my last problem. I finally got the mic input working. I get signal from the preamp to Cubase and I can record vocals. I just cant hear it. If i playback im able to hear it but i cant hear vocals coming from my mic live weather its in cubase or not. Yes the mic volume is up.
