Blue Ocean Floor (OG-Mix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY_UCUHNnIo
[Verse 1: Justin Timberlake 0:43]
Frequencies so low
Heart on a string
A string that only plays solos
Rain made of echoes
Tidal wave rushing on and on
[Pre-Hook: Justin Timberlake 1:23]
Under the water you scream so loud but the silence surrounds you
But I hear it loud and you fall in the deep and I'll always find you
[Hook: Justin Timberlake 1:45]
If my red eyes don't see you anymore
And I can't hear you through the white noise
Just send your heartbeat I'll go...
to the... blue ocean floor
where they... find us no more.
On that, blue ocean floor
On that, blue ocean floor
On that, blue ocean floor
On that, blue ocean floor
On that, blue ocean floor
[Verse 2: Justin Timberlake 2:49]
Shell made out of gold
Found on a beach
Picked up and you held so close
Rain washed out its glow
Heartbeat steadily leads me down below
[Pre-Hook: Justin Timberlake 3:30]
Under the water you scream so loud but the silence surrounds you
But I hear it loud and you fall in the deep and I'll always find you
[Hook: Justin Timberlake 3:51]
If my red eyes don't see you anymore
And I can't hear you through the white noise
Just send your heartbeat I'll go...
to the... blue ocean floor
where they... find us no more.
On that, blue ocean floor
On that, blue ocean floor
On that, blue ocean floor
On that, blue ocean floor
On that, blue ocean floor
[Bridge: Justin Timberlake 4:56]
20,000 leagues away, catch up to you on the same day
Travel at the speed of light, thinking the same thoughts at the same time
Heartbeat set at steady pace, I’ll let the rhythm show me the way
No one can find us here, fade out and disappear
[Verse 3: OG Maestro 5:27-6:30]
We met when you still smoked.
It expressed how your loneliness was pain, cancer at that
You were stressed, calling my name, hoping I answer it back;
It's a test you held in vain -- now you're in a panic attack,
Depressed, less or the same, in tears you never manage to lack
Your soul's a hollow shell that was raised by the ocean
For years I've written down the echos, space graced with motion
(waves start to close in)
I tried to hard to reach deep inside just to touch your hand
Try as I must, I think of the things I can't instead of the much I can
We fought through dust and sand,
Not tooth and nail, but tongue and lips
So, how the fuck did we go from your hips...
...cuffs & wrists, and then come to this?
Stuck in rifts, between coral reefs, steady streams, and white noise
Swimming in the same shit I fell in, asking if I made the right choice
I feel like Otis Redding, Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay
A storm's brewing, your mood keeps shifting. It can't stop for a day
My toes sink into the first inch, my feet trace the surface
I stare into the submarine void...shit's so deep, makes me nervous
You bring a new meaning to "tonight you sleeping on the floor"
Tidal waves crash in aquatic cries, like you weep against the shore
But I'll never stop coming to you, I won't paddle for breath
Even as my lungs burn and things look Grim, I'm battling death
Time and time again, we've been crossing over sea to sea
Through each zone, don't think you've lost what you mean to me

I haven't heard this song in forever man. Thanks for resurrecting it and bringing more life to the song. Some shit you can just honestly listen to and vibe out. Your verse was a solid connection to the song and flowed well. I like how you stuck with the theme of the song and took it in your own style and made it better. Couple of favorite lines I got:

This piece was written well man, I can appreciate the artistry you brought to it. Doesn't feel like a song that anyone could rap to cuz of the soulful give it has, but I actually went along with the words well as the song played and it really felt like a smooth transition into the song. Imagery was dope, lyricism hit well and it was a good read. Good shit.

Nah, can't fuck wit that instrumental. It's just distortion, white noise, but really just noise as in racket. I feel like somebody's mama sayin that. Lol.
But, yeah, after turning off the instrumental I kind of got into this. From an emotional point of view I didn't really feel it. The abstract nature of your words didn't give me anything to cling to. Nothing tugged at the heartstrings or hit me in the chest. It was pretty much a "feelz" free ride for me, bro. However, I'm not sure it that was the actual intent, because what did resonate with me was the "I'm willing to die for you" appreciate you had for this mysterious person/interest. I use the word "interest" because I'm not entirely sure rather or not this was about a real flesh and blood person or just the personification of one. Could it be music? Drugs? Etc? I'm not sure. In any case however, I did enjoy the elemental metaphors you employed, the sound, wave, and ocean themes you used. All of which made the writing seem much grander and more cosmically profound than just your everyday love story. It made it seem like you and this person/thing have a connection that's beyond the physical and can only be described by referring to forces that supersede the flesh. It was an interesting and well written art piece my dude. That had multiple layers to process and absorb. Always a pleasure to read your stuff. Props and peace.

well its about gawddamn time! Great work, big homie. My first impression was of a cigarette or weed or something along that line as the first few lines were drawn with words connoting the idea of "addiction". After awhile i realize it didn't matter. whether its a physical translation or an intangible one, the point of this piece is in the underlining theme of lost; an idea well presented in some very nice imagery. The whole beach/ocean metaphor was fire and very well implemented in relation to the song. i've been waiting for a new OG piece and glad u came through.
