    Nas, Illmatic, other shit...

Let me know what you guys think...

Do you think that Nas will ever be able to replicate the success, acclaim, and classic status that he recieved with Illmatic...?

Jay-Z did it when he released The Blueprint, but do you think that Nas can do the same...?

Personally, I think that he has the talent...
He's got the flow, wordplay, lyrical content, delivery...He can really tell visual stories with his lyrics...
But I think that what's missing is dope production...

Thats what made The Blueprint so good...
The production job by Kanye and Just Blaze was amazing, and really gave it a soulful feel...

I think that if Nas gets good production, then he could have another classic like Illmatic...
He should enlist the aids of DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, RZA, Large Proffesor, and maybe even MadLib...
I think if he had better production, he could pump out a classic...

    What do y'all think...?

the production on illmatic was ok... nothing really spectacular tho there are some beats i like alot... its just that nobody expect that from him... the conent and all was just... WOW... so it over shadows his other albums... to me NAS, Scarface, Rakim are the last great rappers that still drop high level shit.... anyways... i think he could drop another classic but there will never another illmatic... because we will be expectin that every album he drops... and like we already have a crazy image in our head of what to expect and its never what we think so it kinda dissapoints... so all in all production has a lil bit to do wit it... but nas made thos beats classics... if he got better production people would focus more on the production then the content... IMO

even if nas did drop another illmatic no one would admit it, just cause illmatic is so good, and most fans seems to think nothing can ever top the first, just like most rakim fans think paid in full was his best album....

btw stillmatic and gods son were dope albums, obviously not illmatic but very good, most people dont give those two albums the credit they deserve

    Stillmatic was dope...

But God's Son had some tracks that we could do without...
Like Zone Out, Hey Nas, and The Cross...

But you are right that they won't admit that its a classic, but the people need to face the truth...
I honestly think that if Nas has dope production, he could outdo Illmatic...

    The Lost Tapes
    Stillmatic

yeh i think street disciple will be a decent album, not dope tho.
dont good enough to be a classic. its not jus the tracks that make an
album a classic. it has to have something extra tho i cant explain wot
    that extra things is

No, I don't think he'll replicate Illmatic... The production was amazing on Illmatic I agree, and Nas hasn't released any other albums with beats on that level... but there's more to it as well

Lyrically Nas isn't as great as before (he's still dope, just not AS dope) and his breath control has suffered...

Stillmatic was a classic to me, just one bad song like someone already said... Some of the songs were even on Illmatic's level... God's Son was dope too... SD will probably be good, but another album to be called "not Illmatic"... who knows, we'll have to wait and see

yah, well Nas did say that SD ws gunna be less for kids kinda like God's Son was with that song (i forget the name at the moment). He said hes goin back to raw hip hop and shit. so i dunno, Illmatic was amazing, and all we'll have to do is wait

but if it comes out as good as illmatic, the rest of the game will be fucked, only a few people will survive i my opinion, not saying that he guna go after everyone else, but if its as good as Illmatic, then no album or a couple will be able to top it, so thats just what i think

I don't think it matters if he topples it or not i mean ppl say he's fallen off i think he's just gotten better. He does need better production, but his lyrical content is one of tha greatest as a mainstream or underground artist.
