D.O.C, just get a dynamic mic with a pop filter. It's fairly cheap (unless you're younger than 13). It will give you decent quality, but don't expect to be recording albums with it. If you're really good and want to start recording songs professionally for money and/or a recording deal, get a condenser microphone and a good soundcard.

But if you're just doing this for fun, your current soundcard and a dynamic mic will do.
