    He invented the metaphor

    [SOUNDCLICK]5919827[/SOUNDCLICK]

    I hold my grudge well;
Either as an internal effigy of the man
    who invented the metaphor
    or self-righteous purpose of meaning.
    To me,
Redemption sounds a lot like police sirens
And a late night at the emergency room.
I crawled out of my grave,
in search of half moons and an open Sky.
    Semantics crumbled
    When mushroom clouds
    Became exclamation marks.
It is now too late to forgive the Sky.
    I carved my morals
    from your mistakes.
My hands are your vagrant gifts
    And I swear
    on my abandoned mother
that they will find your resolve one day.
    You held onto your contempt like a newborn child;
Ignoring your blood as it seeped into the earth.
    My imagination loses breath
When the thought comes to mind
of a two year old toddler named Brian
    Stumbling across shattered glass
With distilled tears racing down his puffy cheeks
and a muted cry in his throat
trying avoid the view of his mother being abused
    And abused
    And abused
    And abused
By a Sky drained of compassion.
    When I think of you
    my eyes go blank,
And my stomach flaps like a wounded bird
    Because your sins
are just too much to digest.
    You will never
    Ever
be able to fucking justify the terror in my little brother’s eyes
When we had to find shelter under a dinning room table
to survive your 40 ounce tempest.
    I don’t know why
    But I’m still here,
Creating poetry out of brittle clouds and blood stained dirt.
    I am your moving,
    Breathing,
    19 year old metaphor,
    Forged from shallow apologies
And promises that were never meant to be kept.
But I still look up to the Sky-
Let my memory rendezvous with your eyes.
    Intangible someone;
    You could never be reached
    And that
    is why
    you are alone.
    murder murder

    Re: He invented the metaphor

As always the "actual" content of the poem is indeed dope! I think what makes you such an excellent poet is the words that you choose to use and how you choose to use them. It's funny to find some one who can mix complex and higher leveler vocabulary into a simplistic concept and make it all come together so effortless and natural. It shows your not only an intelligent individual, but that you are also a skilled writer conscious of the fact that the "wow factor" come from both decorative phrase and good communication between yourself and the audience. As far as the actual "SPOKEN" goes, well, I think you did a good job setting the pace of the poem, enunciating your words properly, and coherently, and also allowing the listener time to let what you said sink in. However, at some points I think that you might have slowed it down just a tad too long, because you had me in a rhythm with your words, then you abruptly interrupted it. It sort of left an undesired un-expectancy in my ear. However, to your credit, I think if you had performed this exact same poem on stage with all the body, hand, and facial expressions that go along with it ... it might have produced a rather different effect. As it stands though, I still think it was relatively dope, and like your other poems it will definitely be receiving more than just a few listens from me. So once again...Great Job! pZ

Um, well, Sharp I didn't listen to the audio cause I don't have a soundcard for the CPU I'm on right now. However, your writing is incredible. I don't think I've ever something so passionate in tone from you before. I mean, when I think of your writing from before, a huge part of why I enjoyed it was it's tone. But this was just ridiculously good.
Non-stop puns, and double entendres in this one, with my favourite being the relation between exclamation marks and mushroom clouds. I felt your pain throughout the entire poem. I didn't even know what the metaphor you were alluding to was until the end. It's one of those poems where the end ties up the beginning like a Pink Floyd song or something, where I have to read again to pick up anything I missed. Fuckin' ay!
    can I kick it?

    Nice read.

The wording of it was alright, felt that you've done better in the past but that's just my opinion. So I'm sure it'll be ignored just like the link I posted and the rest of this feedback will be. The placement of words was nice, it's the choice of some that threw me off or let me down. The flow was very poetic, and slipped right off of your tongue and you delivered nicely. Imagery was good and it seemed like you knew what you were saying it, in the terms that you lived the write. We as readers lived the read. Emotion was nice and overall a really good piece. Keep writing.

i think, personally, that you need to step up your voice and your emotion when youre reading. it seems that all of these i have heard sound the same, with the same slow, and repetitive wording and reading style. other than that, your writing is pretty fresh. youve got a good grasp on your whole style, but i agree with prayer. you should check your word choice, because i think there are better options in some places that you could utilize much better.

    Not really. Save the song
the sickle sings, we expire the same: lights out.
