Like a wolf in a cage who longs to be free
That is what these howls sound like to me,
A plea for that which she has never known
A wish for something she will probably never see
The need for the pack rushes though her
And she wants the excitement of the hunt
The smell, taste, and feel of blood on her muzzle
Even that would be enough
She longs for the wide open spaces,
And the shadowy forests of her home
She wants to be able to run free
She wants to never be alone
She wants to find her mate
She wants to raise her pups
She wants to be free of the human cuffs
She wants her to follow her instincts
You may ask how I know
What this beautiful wolf wants
I only know these things because she,
She is me
