Former Terror Squad member Remy Ma just can't seem to catch a break. The rapper, who was recently denied a request to travel to Europe for a five country tour due to a pending criminal case, has been hit with a $10 Million dollar lawsuit.
According to Reuters, the suit is the latest legal problem for the rapper, who is also facing up to 25 years in prison for shooting childhood friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph twice in the abdomen after leaving a New York city hotspot.
Barnes-Joseph filed the civil suit in Manhattan Federal court yesterday December 21, 2007. She alleges the music companies, who are also named as defendants in the suit, encouraged the rapper to engage in violent behavior as part of her image.
Remy has pleaded innocent to charges of attempted murder and has yet to comment on the latest legal problems. Her lawyer, Ivan Fisher told Reuters the lawsuit was "irresponsible" and "looking for the deepest pocket it could find."
