me i always tend look towards the hook, just for the fact that alot cats are terrible at hooks, which should be the easiest part, hooks is the part of the song i think the listener should always remember. the hook should support the song but alot cats don't do that.

I kinda try to listen to the entire song as a whole... does it sound like the "real deal" ya know??? it don't gotta be the best in any given skill, but it needs to be equally good at all of 'em... lyrics, delivery, flow, hook, concept, quality...

there's tracks that are obviously just dudes tryin' to rap, and then there's the tracks that are dudes tryin' to make a good song... that's the kind I like...

i konw that doesnt apply to the underground tracks, so for them, i listen for content, delivery, flow, credibility, overall swagger, beat choice, and how they sit wit the beat
