Her Wingspan
Her Wingspan
by Alphaeus
Thou shall sell everything I own.
For beauty is nothing without grace,
she said;
For her china doll bled a tear,
as in her world - all was not well.
She didn't dance, nor talk
to the adoring boys across the street.
Her house, a bleak and small object,
acquired tastes was one of her charms.
Photo's lit up the world,
every night she laid rest in a dark place.
She is the rain.
She is the wind.
She is the only thing of beauty
still left without scars.
Remember vanity;
Of course she doesn’t,
and she flies higher than the hand of god...
for she is not weighed,
nor is she measured by earth’s boundaries.
Where each of us ends
she begins.
She makes me want to fly.
