What's going on fam. Frost here, updating for Week 8's magazine. Week 8 was our best yet, seeing legends and vets pop up for appearances on RB's topical side. We saw some big time No Shows, which sucked. <!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: dbtech_usertag_mention -->

We saw myself officially commit my second title defense which enters me, further, into the SS History Books along with following SS legends:

The turnout was alright, not too good/bad. Unfortunately, many people signed out.

Control is a fine art that I've struggled to perfect
Pick hitting every string that strummed notes of regret

Day-Day
I've learned a few things burned through mood rings,
bipolar disorder got me switching through queue strings.

Oatmeal
the problem is I got more ideas than minutes
more ambitions to begin than I have reasons to finish
more horizons to explore than I have means to their limits
more pulpits to preach from than there are people to listen
the seas crease to a grimace - the winds of change stir up a breeze in the distance
years of growth across the ocean rise and screech to this instant
but the question is will destiny be seized or relinquished?
will I make it to my feet or let the beach take me with it?

**Day-Day**
My mother taught me that anything is attainable,
but to maintain your heart is barely sustainable.
I couldn't quote directly anything thing that she said,
other than "Don't let your heart ever lie to your head."
Now I'm crying in bed, because I've been trying to thread,
the fine line of caring with my eyes on the dead.
It's only been 4 years since she last graced the earth,
She missed me publishing a book and her grandbaby's birth.
Life's been swirling in my head; fuckin depression and mirth,
But the only thing I recall; is how bad it hurt.

Wicked
This country is meant to associate ourselves with others..
And respect them all regardless of their race or color..
To eliminate hate and bring joy to those less fortunate..
And gain assurance from poverty stricken or rich corporates..

Nigma
Because the scene was jubilation
The two of them in tune, so graceful
Newly weds in truest faith
The moon cascades the view, amazed
as beauty sheds and soothes their faces
My mood was drained, a guy approaches
Rudely begs to pry my focus for the slightest moment
His overcoat untied and open, wrinkles have consumed his face
Seemed he’d be kind, but older times have stole his youthful traits

Ammunition, shattering the ceiling; Tanks pounded twin-strike; conjoined needles
Silence fell upon them all..the glass shards fluttered down into stairs, so lush~ ...
CRUSHED FLAIRS OF DUST, compress the air's rust like sin-spiked cylinders of diesel
Fresh crates of sacred scriptures spill out of shelves to vacant listeners
One of them shouted out for divine action from the great brothers & amazing sisters,
“Let us praise to sinners!!!!!...” *BOOOOM*
Then a blaze triggers; black bombs break the barrier of heat


Power Rankings


#1 Professor Frost

To be the man, you have to beat the man.

Professor frost is the current league champion and the number 1 ranked writer as of right now. Each verse seems to get more polished and better. A sure sign that he only gets stronger as the weeks go.

#2 Kayge

4-0, amazing lyricist & he's hungry for the title. I'm giving this to him. Hands down.


#3 Cai

Technically, Cai is ranked 3rd after his win. He's a strong contender. He'll surprise you too, when he puts in full effort.


#4 Oatmeal

This guy is a solid veteran, legend. He knows how to craft a damn near 10/10 topical verse.
He qualifies for this week's power rankings, even though he is signed out for Week 9.


#5 143

Let us not forget who 143 is. Despite his champ battle loss, he's made it a point to have a reoccurring visit into the top 4 in the SSL. I look forward to seeing him in Week 9.
