    Introduction

“Niggas making blueprints while it's in my habit to fuck around with schematics. I'm talkin' the freshest designs, I'm inclined for the rhyme. If I keep climbin', then in time. I'll 180 back to what's mine.”
    - Professor Frost

What's going on fam. Frost here, updating for Week 8's magazine. Week 8 was our best yet, seeing legends and vets pop up for appearances on RB's topical side. We saw some big time No Shows, which sucked. <!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: dbtech_usertag_mention -->
    @<a href="http://www.rapbattles.com/forum/member.php?u=260434" target="_blank">whitesmoke96</a>
<!-- END TEMPLATE: dbtech_usertag_mention --> made a pretty pleasant debut in the SSL. Shout out to him for at least showing up to his first battle and winning. Both Champ & Contenders battles were showed and had offered a good amount of entertainment + grand lyricism.
We saw myself officially commit my second title defense which enters me, further, into the SS History Books along with following SS legends:

    Professor Frost x 2 Defences.
    K X 2 Defences.
    D.H.Brixton x 2 Defences.
    Sureal x 2 Defences.
    FGee x2 Defences.
    MadMan x 2 Defences.
    Sand x 1 Defence.
Ace of Aces x 1 Defence.
    Nique x 1 Defence.
    Engivale x 1 Defence.
    Bruklor x 1 Defence.

The turnout was alright, not too good/bad. Unfortunately, many people signed out.

Farewells go out to Oatmeal, Nigma, Split Eight, Alphabet, Illuminate, Montauk, Skully Hendrix & Tropical.

On the upswing a lot of other veterans and first timers have signed in for the first time, as well as, T.H.D(The Human Dictionary), 143 returning.

Hellos go out to 143, Tragedian, Mimic & NYCSPITZ

    Week 8 Scoreboard
Professor Frost def. Fresh by Technical KO
Kayge def. Day-Day by Technical KO
    Cai def. Illuminate by NS
The Great Father def. Montauk by NS
Split Eight def. Alphabet by NS
Illustrious def. Skully Hendrix by NS
Fatrick Swayze def. Tropical by KO
Oatmeal def. Nigma by Technical KO
Whitesmoke def. Wicked by Technical KO

    Frost's Top Ten Bars
    (In no actual order)
    ** = Frost's favorite Bar

    http://i1154.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3d38c425.jpg

    Oatmeal
the shorebreak sings me melodies, the sway of its ebb is
telling me to let my memories persuade where I'm heading
raised in these waters, this beach is my most sacred possession
sand and saltwater communion - my first taste of perfection
I remember seeing rainbows in the spray of the sections
the full spectrum of light painted in a graceful impression
I played in the sets, mistaking the cascade of their crescents
as mirrors of the moon that made them - nature's way of inception
each wave is a lesson; be prepared to bathe in correction
whether for hubris in your usefulness or brazen aggression
but cradle your breath! there's hope if you can make the connection -
that there's zen in the helplessness beneath the weight of oppression

    Kayge
From the balsa framed pictures hanging from vines
You find creators more divine than he who procreated wine
The sun shines - casting shadows that touch your breath
Can't rest inside a world with dreams crushing your chest

    Professor Frost
The chosen fold up like cautious gamers of high stake poker
The balances of peace; the wolves would lie, rape & choke her
Both sides are dead, essentially; who is next? What's your grazed affinity?
Do you worship a deity? 1 or 3? & mouth devout praise to infinity?
What about me? I'm just your story's narrator, searching signatures of synergies
Cursive galaxies swirl into well-refined conditioners of energies
I mock the locked treasures of the higher place, you all desire taste
But your want for more...and more...and more... has blocked pleasures
The false wings you drew from the church's haven was just stocked feathers
Now you'll see a perspective-full that is on the peripherals of your spectacle
If this fortune hasn't satisfied your hunger, you'll find the universe to be delectable

    Kayge
Control is a fine art that I've struggled to perfect
Pick hitting every string that strummed notes of regret

    Day-Day
I've learned a few things burned through mood rings,
bipolar disorder got me switching through queue strings.

    Oatmeal
the problem is I got more ideas than minutes
more ambitions to begin than I have reasons to finish
more horizons to explore than I have means to their limits
more pulpits to preach from than there are people to listen
the seas crease to a grimace - the winds of change stir up a breeze in the distance
years of growth across the ocean rise and screech to this instant
but the question is will destiny be seized or relinquished?
will I make it to my feet or let the beach take me with it?

    **Day-Day**
My mother taught me that anything is attainable,
but to maintain your heart is barely sustainable.
I couldn't quote directly anything thing that she said,
other than "Don't let your heart ever lie to your head."
Now I'm crying in bed, because I've been trying to thread,
the fine line of caring with my eyes on the dead.
It's only been 4 years since she last graced the earth,
She missed me publishing a book and her grandbaby's birth.
Life's been swirling in my head; fuckin depression and mirth,
But the only thing I recall; is how bad it hurt.

    Wicked
This country is meant to associate ourselves with others..
And respect them all regardless of their race or color..
To eliminate hate and bring joy to those less fortunate..
And gain assurance from poverty stricken or rich corporates..

    Nigma
    Because the scene was jubilation
The two of them in tune, so graceful
    Newly weds in truest faith
The moon cascades the view, amazed
as beauty sheds and soothes their faces
My mood was drained, a guy approaches
Rudely begs to pry my focus for the slightest moment
His overcoat untied and open, wrinkles have consumed his face
Seemed he’d be kind, but older times have stole his youthful traits

    Professor Frost
Ammunition, shattering the ceiling; Tanks pounded twin-strike; conjoined needles
Silence fell upon them all..the glass shards fluttered down into stairs, so lush~ ...
CRUSHED FLAIRS OF DUST, compress the air's rust like sin-spiked cylinders of diesel
Fresh crates of sacred scriptures spill out of shelves to vacant listeners
One of them shouted out for divine action from the great brothers & amazing sisters,
“Let us praise to sinners!!!!!...” *BOOOOM*
Then a blaze triggers; black bombs break the barrier of heat

Professor frost is the current league champion and the number 1 ranked writer as of right now. Each verse seems to get more polished and better. A sure sign that he only gets stronger as the weeks go.

    #2 Kayge

4-0, amazing lyricist & he's hungry for the title. I'm giving this to him. Hands down.

    #3 Cai

Technically, Cai is ranked 3rd after his win. He's a strong contender. He'll surprise you too, when he puts in full effort.

    #4 Oatmeal

This guy is a solid veteran, legend. He knows how to craft a damn near 10/10 topical verse.
He qualifies for this week's power rankings, even though he is signed out for Week 9.

    #5 143

Let us not forget who 143 is. Despite his champ battle loss, he's made it a point to have a reoccurring visit into the top 4 in the SSL. I look forward to seeing him in Week 9.

    RB Community Recognition

This comes from last week's Mag's response. Just some words of encouragement from our community that fuels us. Because even if it says my name, I am a product of SS & also a producer. I represent.

again, thank you for the awesome send off bro. thanks for all the work you put into this league

I really had a blast, came into this league with no pressure on my back, and I leave with new acquaintances, and the absolute pleasure of putting in work with my crew mates IP, to going way out in left field to go against my homie El Chapo in a crew battle hahaha

this past month has been a fun ride

Thanks everyone, and good luck to all you guys

I will be back before ya know it . .
    dope mag again.

props to everyone involved, this is what makes people want to write every week.
good mag, good effort. I totally forgot about the record books section on here. I motion to have Oatmeal vs. Black season 11 finale added to the "matches to remember" list.
@Day-day thanks man.. @Kayge great video shit man.. @Professor Frost great mag....I will be back for what's mine.....
wtf @ Frost at it again tag... corny yo

    nice mag
Give yourselves a clap SS fam, I wouldn't be anything without you all in here helping me out week after week & molding the SSL into what it is now.
