Week IX Magazine
FOREWORD:
Alright guys, so this week's activity kind of took a hit with the no-shows and what not. That's alright though, I think heading into playoffs things will heat up once again!
The challenge theme last week definitely offered some interesting results, and it was cool to see that it made everyone think a little bit more! I think it was a little too broad, as it confused things in the voting, so future challenges will be less demanding overall haha.
Moving forward with the last week of the regular season, there will be no Contender Match, and final Regular Season rankings and playoff positions will be determined! So good luck to everyone writing this week!
I hope a smooth and active finish to Sacred Scriptures Season XIII, so that XIV can be even better! Thank you again to each of you that has participated and voted it has been a pleasure dealing with everyone. I hope everyone is having fun, and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

BATTLE RECAP:
Champion Match: DEV Vs. Antihero
This was an EXCELLENT champion match. Two incredibly seasoned writers going head to head in what my mind was a battle of the titans. And boy, did it not disappoint: Antihero came with such a clean and flawless flow, couple with a tone and imagery that seemed it was ripped right out of a Batman comic, really complimenting the challenge. DEV came with top-notch material as well, taking a unique twist on a scene that is very familiar with audiences DEV eventually went on to defend his title 3-1.
Contender Match: Professor Frost Vs. Mic S
This had the promise to be a really good battle, and Mic S dropped his best drop to date. It was too bad it was a no-show, but I am sure Professor Frost will be back up again soon.
Plexus Vs. Samajae
Dope battle by two not as well known cats, but they both show a ton of potential to go far with both of their drops. Samajae came with a clean structure that was incredibly easy to read, as well as relating extremely well to his source material. Plexus came with some great emotion and character building as well, but fell short as Samajae took it 3-0.
143 Vs. L.E
A rematch of Week 7's champion match, 143 unfortunately missed the deadline because of surgery revolving around his gun wound incident. I hope he makes a speedy recovery, and he has already confirmed his participation for the playoffs! I wasn't incredibly happy with my piece, but readers seemed to enjoy it haha. Taking mental notes to maybe relax a bit more in the future.
BATTLE OF THE WEEK:
Champion Match: DEV Vs. Antihero
Seems like DEV is in the Battle of the Week every week haha. But this battle had the makings of a great champion match as it was probably one of the most even matched battles to date.

Sewer water covers the soldiers, one monster smothers the knight,
he's stronger, tougher, colder and slaughters others out of pride.
Moves through the shadows flawlessly, boots sound shallow and light,
he's the true gallows, but honorably... Bruce baffles with a right.
The brute lifts him high, as Batman's spine bends over Banes knee,
I swoon with a grin, wide as a fat mans waistline when cake's free.
He fainted- or maybe he's dead so now my dream's tainted and destroyed,
I paid him for maiming, the rest would be a fifty/fifty frame flip of my coin.
"So now I clench my fists, somehow I'll end this bullshit soon,
his hit men and quickness can't live through a bullet or two.
I'll make them drop on a grenade or flop with gullets in a noose,
they'll either stop beneath freight or cause the usage of a fuse."
I watch as they carry him away, lost and buried in the fray,
glock ready to get merry and spray, shots too chary to escape.
Each corpse falls with ease, so much force drawn from a piece,
before I stop, the mercenary must endure my law and decease.
Suddenly, I feel a release, a tingling builds up inside my chest,
something steel in my spleen- I kneel as my life fights with death.
He exhales and inhales- impaled, I feel frail and mentally decay,
to think; I've become a freak when I used to put criminals away.
"I hope the batman recovers and brings you to an end,
you choke on words stuttered and weep as the pain begins.
Ya know, you're dumber than the sheep Joker tricked,
I might go, but the buzzards still see me as Harvey Dent."

I heard it sharp and clear as he yelled, and it echoed the block
started telling everyone they're about be behind metal and rot
Pelican Bay to be correct, as he came up with an incredible plot
But it seemed noone wanted to watch as they left him with god
He yelled,
"KING KONG AIN'T GOT SHIT ON ME!"
Those were the last words that i heard as i seen a smile scrape his face
That's when my mom came, picked me up, and took me to play.
A memory I will never forget of a cowboy winning over the gang.
Until this day I still wonder what happened to the man that walked away

Prancing in lantern and night, he is an enchanter in sight.

Ferocious of skill, jousts from a horse like he must go for a kill.
My master sits poised, not a knight, but all of his focus was lent,
To this knight of chosen descent...his notion, I would know his intent.
My master's emotions were spent, in riches, wishes for golden content,
What message spoken and sent, so his investments were not broken and bent?
And proudly he grins, and different servants move as a bounty begins,
The knight yells loudly and spins, gaining foes with the amount that he wins.

Oh, how the basis has grown, now faced with the many paces of tone,
For the name of the throne, basics had been tainted with mistakes that are shown.
Now famous at home! Thrown, tossed and beat against grain of the stone,
Discarded label of bone, against all that was known and what fate had condoned.
With the chains at my side, I survived my master's anger with anxious of eyes,
The regret, for what he had bet, against the knight could be placed against skies.
I look to his peers, and I figured it would be best to deem them defeated,
Their team was unseeded! Retreated, as I gaze upon a quest for freedom completed.
The crowd watches the horses, each one on either side of the courses,
The riders, drive with their forces, the people chanting the highest of choruses.
My frame is lifted by toe, so that I may grow enough to see a glimpse of the blow,
And they inch to their foe, the shining armors are beacons, like water glistens in snow.
And an instant! With clashes, dust ashes as the lances smashes and splinters,
Not a clap, but a gasp! No reactions, as the young knight stands as the victor!
For he was brave, no peasant birth could remain and dig him a grave in his home,
For through his strength he had shown, that anyone can break free from chains like my own...
