Expressing my soul through a verse that describes how I'm hurtin'
What's worse is I don't know if at the end of it I'll recognize the purpose.
I admit that I'm not perfect, I've been avoiding all the churches
So much so that when I think of death I start to get nervous.
I question my motives half the time that I'm randomly being nice
Like when I gave a ride to 2 strangers in the middle of the night
I feel like I only did it so my conscience wasn't burdened
In spite of the fact that my empty wallet was burnin'.
I was hoping for a payout but never asked for gas money,
I figured if they had it they woulda handed some cash to me.
But that wasn't the case, they were broke too but appreciated the ride
So I just smiled and took them home while I worried inside.
You see I ain't been working since getting hurt and losing my job
So it's been hard to get by without choosing to rob.
Now my daughters only 3 and she can see through the pain
See through the window frame when I'm screaming, now who do I blame?
I feel so ashamed,
I got my middle finger to the sky like I'm placing the blame!
Knowing damn well that it's my fault but I'm still cursing in vain.
I've tried my hardest to keep it together and using my writings to vent,
But I'm sure that if you can sense my tone, you can guess how that's went.
I don't need to finish my verses for my wife to understand
Cuz she can see through the writings like there's a hole in my hand.
