Current State of Text Battles

As someone who was active on these types of forums back in the hey day, probably when it was most popular... and hasn't been back for years and years until now, what would you describe the current state as? Is it completely done? Has there been any major happenings/developments recently or in the past few years? Just trying to catch up on what I missed.

It's definitely dying out very slowly with the vast evolution of live battling and social media. No one really wants to take the time to learn this craft anymore. Majority of those still don't this have been at it for years. There's really no new up n coming text battlers like there were a few years ago. I believe mainly in part to the marketing and promoting. My man b Dot Lesnar is making moves and advancements to reach new audiences with his PBX fliers and what not. But text battling is unfortunately in stages of extinction.
