I’d never seen it before either and we did use the word differently. If it wasn’t for me seeing people call the wordplay played, I would have dropped it in a battle.

Sometimes I feel like people just call shit “played” because they THINK it’s had to have been done before, despite them not haven’t even personally seen it firsthand.

I don't even subscribe to that "played" fucking BS.. if someone used a concept, and it's applicable to their opponent on a personal level, and it's used creatively, then idgaf if the actual word has been used before - especially if it was used as a generic.

And fwiw, I would have quoted that adderal line regardless of knowing it was likely used before.. because it was dope.
