"Chronicles of the Wanderer" by Soule' and Cody Nash

"Wanderer: one without fealty to a kingdom, who travels the galaxy as an adventurer or mercenary, seeking a purpose outside another's ambition..."

Wanderers don’t ponder their souls, even the thought of bein’ lost in the cold -
Isn’t synonymous with loss of control…the impossible folds
to our crusader; in a galaxy where there isn’t anything that’s unknown -
crash landing in a desert where a drink gives him hope,
walking slow, wishing for pleasure from that drip on his throat..
But desert demons made of water rip his ship top to hull…
Crash landed on this planet where he needs what attacks him…
Just a human feeling humid where the water’s of magic
form monstrous dragons, horns of ice, somehow intact in their wrath -
His ship sinking beneath their grip and mucky holes in the sands…
His weapon is jammed, gasping for air, no second to plan,
he's dying, but can't, came to this planet in pursuit of a chance.
"Delta, where is it weak?!" his AI begins a full body scan,
"there's a heart between the wings." he reaches in with brawny hands.
Squeezing the organ with all of his strength, he falls to his knees,
choking... drinking before the water dissolves in the heat.
Just as he strains to his feet, a spear scrapes his cheek,
a hunting party stampedes through the grains of deceit.
"Delta, fix the ship, I'll be running late..." he unsheathes his blade,
powers up his shields and readies to bathe in bloody remains.
He feels the sting of his face, but otherwise he’s un-phased…
Hydrated freshly by the dragon made of water he’d slain…
Villagers crazed, moving from their holes out the sands of the core…
They’re sort of human-like moles, and some are crawling on fours…
Primitive with their tools, they’re no match for his weapons…
His shield alone is protection from the spears that they’ve sent him.
Like a love letter for a woman from a lover with a death wish -
Our wanderer swings his blade and keeps returning their message..
The first mole becomes headless, he takes them each - all himself,
Advanced in technology, but also in skills…

Regret fills his heart as he marks the sand with blood,
came to this planet for love, not to damn it's sons.
This endless slaughter under a manic sun...
makes him no less a monster than these panicked grunts.
A titanic serpent ascends, ready to binge,
cloudy eyes from a life of shedding it's skin.
with a heavy cringe, he's taking his blade and pressing it in,
deep in the brain, stretching it thin,
it seemed so afraid before meeting it's end.
Sick of the raid, he's screaming within,
no physical pain... he's pleading with them.
"you're no longer slaves!" he shouts with grieving intent.
But they don’t understand…the language isn’t the same,
He tries locating their dialect - but it’s lost, unattained,
the 2nd dragon still circles on high, with flesh dripping,
the few moles that are left take a knee as they gift him -
Two spears, for fateful throws, but he only needs one…
He notices their gesture, grabs a handle - HEAVE, lunge!
spearhead flying threw the air as the dragon flies for his soul…
that sharp head lines up perfect with what this tidal wave holds.
The sun is so hot, it melts the heart when it strikes -
‘Til rainfall showers them all from where the dragon had tried..

"Delta, is the ship good to go?" he fills two buckets for the road,
"affirmative, engines afloat..." ready for Gaia where the jungle is cold.
He leaves a pound of gold for the struggling moles,
their poverty now a novelty without crumbling coals.
Across the desert where he measures his soul,
forever alone, he wonders if he'll never behold
the pleasures she sows, the dream woman who could sever his oath.
"Captain, your vitals show sorrow..." "I'm fine, Delta" an impatient lie...
"fire the jets and aim for the sky, it's time to leave this wasteland behind."

"After freeing the enslaved from their masters and monsters, bringing rain to the thirsty and gold to the poor. Our hero sets his sights on Gaia, a planet fueled by forestation and war. Will he find what he's been searching for? Or just more blood at the end of his sword?

    To be continued..."

the onset of this had quite a tremendous flow about it... butter fucking smooth. you guys compliment each others writing very well giving us just enough to tell there is two writers over the entire body of work. extremely cinematic in detail .... its like a lyrical star wars going on here. the pacing is really balanced and you give us a lot while leaving it open to add more future volumes. really good stuff here gents. not that its very similar in content, but reading these sci-fi drops reminds me of one of my favorite El-P/Cage joints called Habeas Corpus (sure u probably know it). looking forward to the future entries

    FIRE!!!!

holy hell you two seemingly write seamlessly. could have been a single writer. i'm going to be honest, i was picturing rick from rick and morty. the descriptions and depictions of the scenery and the characters were vividly constructed. crazy imagery. it flowed sooo smoothly, "where there isn’t anything that’s unknown -" was the only line that tripped of the flow of the read for me, i can't put my finger on it but it feels awkward to me. the rhymes never disappointed. the story is captivating, i look forward to next week's episode! i can't even confidently guess who wrote what, did dagel write the middle? it's so great that when i come back to randomly drop an OM that some of my favorite topical writer's are active and two of them are doing a series of collabs, that's fucking badass. Thank you both for reading and feeding my OM drop. I'm definitely going to try to start being more active, probably on my days off. I love this concept of a traveler going to different planets and meeting different forms of life.
