I’ve been trying to think of the words to describe the feelings I feel
And my anger is hot enough to melt solid steel
Humanity has once again been tested by the Court of Life
And Billions are on appeal
Stays of execution are granted only in retribution
To those who have not made contributions to this feeble world’s confusion
Peace in these parts is an illusion
They show us what they think we should see
And hide what they’re really doing
I mean as long as our economy strives
How GREEN were those folks to surrender their lives
To four or five with box cutters and plastic knives
I mean where did they think they were going
Disney Land?
I mean really man...
That shows our state of mind and how far we’ve come
When you can succumb when the odds a 19 to ONE
I contemplate what a niggha like me would have done
How much we trust our false sense of security
Did they think Super Man was en-route
Or better still Mighty Mouse
Bureaucracy in abundance
All In the name of democracy
Redundant
Lemme show you how suspicious one gets
It’s gotten so bad I clean my gun clips
And stash live rounds in the hundreds
I’m like if I gotta go
I’m taking some with me
And my friends say I was the “reasonable one”
And shake their heads sanctimoniously at me in pity
Fuck that! After “they” gave a haircut to New York City
So I’ve been trying to think of the words to describe the feelings I feel
And my anger is hot enough to melt solid steel
Humanity has once again been tested by the Court of Life
And Billions are on appeal
Now every time I eat I consider that to be my last meal
I look around train cars, in my desperate angst
Eye balling “Mid-Eastern” lookin’ folk
Who my have concealed shanks
I took all my money out of the city bank
Hid it in a shoe box under my kitchen sink
Why does the phrase “don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house” come to mind?
The You Us of Hey’s naïve children are blind
“We” kill like they kill
And when we kill its righteous
They have 12 year olds with rusted rifles who line up to fight us
I wish it were so easy to put animosity behind us
But every daily news front-page scoop reads “REVENGE!”
Because of how my New York skyline was singed
The 12-year-olds have skin like my kin
Don’t get it twisted, biologically we’re closer to them
5000 plus some are reportedly gone
But millions more died before this GREAT NATION was born
Natives we called them
And if anyone has been scorned
It’s those millions of souls who had skin closer to mine
I think 11,000 were murdered in this country in '99
Terrorism and Self Destruction
A thin line?
So we mourn...
Are we in the calm of the storm?
Are we in the calm of the storm?
Whole heritages torn
This is my country
And united I stand
But this side chose me
And divided a man.
