In my perspective, it always felt like everything that could be said had already been said in one way or another. There were also some new kids that would pop up but they wrote different which wouldn't go well with older dudes or they would bruise their ego when criticized or given feedback that wasn't borderline dick riding so they left. I think we failed at figuring out what gets shit active to younger dudes and would keep their attention. RB to me was meant to be the most popular just off the name alone but we lacked the vision to make the site itself matter where ever it was supposed to.

Kinda wild to think that this text version art form of rap battling will basically be forever obsolete.

Sometimes I’ll wonder to myself why it never kept going with the newer generations, and had the torch be passed. Too many other forms of social media and tech now? No attention spans? Message boards just an outdated thing in general?

At some point, kids stopped discovering this realm and/or being drawn to it as an outlet. Mind fuck sometimes.

Feel like it was a mix of a bit of everything . Social media blew up. YouTube got bigger , a whole bunch of shit .. from old heads knockin new heads constantly . Everyones style was forced to change to what members were comfortable with short bar long bar etc , people got critiqued on shit they didnt understand fully and then would criticize others on things like “ the wording being off” without actually knowing what the phrase meant or what they were even criticizing lol , whole bunch of shit honestly lol the constant trolls that escaped from the lounges . I’ve literally never dabbled in them , was just here for the art . … but yeah it was sick for a long time lol I mean last year we had LLL going for like 8 weeks , that was dope

I do miss the old days when dudes was dropping heat which made everyone else put more thought into their bars so they wouldn't get embarrassed. I don't care how active the site is, just the quality of the battles. If ya'll run a league, at least make the battles worth reading so we don't have to hunt for quotes just to put a vote in, that shit is tough to sit through.
