Tree houses weren't my neighborhood of choice,
the expectations up here are too high...
I want to leave, but I would be too bound –
to the tree that I squeeze, but I want to go down.

I never climbed, never reached; they wanted
me up here to change me, my family...
Ironic, faces and places that were meant to be,
not meant to be – not me on this family tree...

Give me freedom & let me fall if I wish,
I keep my raincoat handy so tears just drip.
Words would never slip, I'm stuck by sticks
& stones; the opinions of highest nest...

I'll let the birds chirp, until they find another worm;
I will not be another economy, provoked into madness.
Or a wind that was supposed to sweep us off our feet,
It's almost spring; and we need a relief to clean...

Call me Ezekiel... the wheels are teasing me
Ivory mingles with limestone... It’s all the same
Nothing but teasing - greed's imperative
Wandering Jews... I’m headed your way

The tree's fucking with me... I didn't know cement was underground;
didn't know that adhesive poured out of bar,
didn't know that flytraps were disguised as branches,
didn't know enough…

I want to know. . .
No... I want to... no... everything's a clusterfuck
being organized is just an excuse for living in the slow lane
I don't want to know... I don't want to expect
I want it to be free...

I want this cement gone... I want a change;
not the conventional change…
not the traditional change…
not the universal change…
but sure.. change would be cool.

Play it by ear... Bach, Gershwin, Dylan. . .
evolution's happened before.
I don't want Darwin’s evolution..
I don't want the American evolution..

… revolution, not evolution..

Create it now...
Patience isn't of virtue –
it's of too long of a wait and lack of lifespan
break these roots down…
down to the ground.
down to the dirt.
down to the core.
down to the truth.

Get rid of this adhesive...
let me bounce around:
not stick to this tree.
not stick to acceptance.
not stick to the universal belief.
stick to what I believe.

Let the tree bloom
don't let it wither…

How many pieces of yours do I have to nominate this month Jon? And Heychoo, don't know what parts were yours... but this whole thing was amazing. The imagery in this piece was just beastly! Some very well put together descriptions, and your wording helped a lot too. Flowed very well together. I loved the concept you guys used, not too mind bottling but came out a very creative piece. Loved it, nominated. Dope job guys. The first two stanzas, and last three were my favorites.

THIS IS DOPE.I THINK IT FALTERED A LITTLE BIT TOWARDS THE END AND WASNT AS STRONG VISUALLY AS IT WAS IN THE BEGGINGING BUT ALL IN ALL IT WAS A NICE ASS PIECE.GOOD IMAGES AND NICE VOCAB AND WORDPLAY BRINGING IN WITH METAPHOES THAT MADE ME SEE THIS SO WELL.FLIPPING AROUND UNTIL THRUSTING THE TRUE TOPIC IN THE VERY END WAS GENUIS ALSO.I REALLY LIKES THIS AND THINK IT IS ONE OF THE MUCH BETTER PIECES I HAVE READ.
